Stubborn Fat Due to
Adrenal Fatigue/Cortisol

Core Symptoms Chronic Tiredness: Persistent, overwhelming fatigue that is not relieved by sleep, along with difficulty getting out of bed in the morning. Afternoon Energy Crashes: A severe drop in energy, typically between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.. Brain Fog: Difficulty concentrating, poor memory, and mental slowness. Reduced Stress Tolerance: Feeling easily overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally unstable.  Physical and Metabolic Signs Salt and Sugar Cravings: A constant desire for salty snacks (due to lowered aldosterone) or sugary foods. Dizziness or Lightheadedness: Feeling faint when standing up quickly (orthostatic hypotension). Muscle Weakness and Body Aches: General, unexplained pain and lack of muscle tone. Skin Discoloration: Darker patches of skin, especially in creases or scars.  Common Physical Signs of Cortisol-Related Fat "Moon Face": Excess fat deposits on the sides of the face, creating a rounded, puffy appearance that can sometimes hide the ears when viewed from the front. "Cortisol Belly": Accumulation of visceral fat around the midsection and internal organs, often appearing as stubborn abdominal weight gain.  "Buffalo Hump": A fatty deposit or hump that develops between the shoulder blades at the base of the neck. Supraclavicular Fat Pads: Unusual fat deposits located above the collarbone. Purple Stretch Marks: Wide, reddish-purple striae typically found on the abdomen, breasts, hips, or under the arms.  Context and Considerations It is important to differentiate between high cortisol due to temporary lifestyle stress and severe medical conditions like Cushing’s Syndrome. While everyday stress can contribute to weight gain, the extreme physical changes described above are more characteristic of clinical disorders or prolonged corticosteroid use. Experts at the Cleveland Clinic and other institutions advise consulting a healthcare professional if you notice these specific fat distribution patterns alongside symptoms like severe fatigue or muscle weakness

Tapping Exercise – Adrenal Stubborn Fat

This tapping exercise is designed to calm the nervous system, reduce stress signals, and support the release of stubborn fat related to this body pattern.

How to Use This Exercise

Tap gently on each point while saying the phrases out loud or silently. Repeat the sequence 1–3 times. This can be done once or twice daily.

Setup Statement (Karate Chop Point)

Even though stress has taken a toll on my body, I deeply honor and accept myself.

Tapping Rounds

• My body has been in survival mode.

• Stress made my body hold on.

• I don’t have to fight my body anymore.

• It is safe to slow down.

• My nervous system can rest.

• As I calm, my body releases excess fat.

Tap in this order, saying each statement before moving to the next tapping point.

Standard EFT Tapping Sequence

  1. Karate Chop (KC): Side of the hand, between the wrist and pinky finger (used for setup).

  2. Top of Head (TOH): Crown of the head.

  3. Eyebrow (EB): Beginning of the eyebrow, near the nose.

  4. Side of Eye (SE): On the bone at the outer corner of the eye.

  5. Under Eye (UE): On the bone beneath the eye, about an inch below the pupil.

  6. Under Nose (UN): Between the bottom of the nose and the top of the upper lip.

  7. Chin (CH): In the crease between the lower lip and chin.

  8. Collarbone (CB): An inch below the collarbone notch, slightly to the side.

  9. Under Arm (UA): About four inches below the armpit on the side of the torso

Recommended Frequency

5–10 minutes per session. Best used during moments of stress, cravings, or before bed.

Gentle Reminder

You are not trying to force change. You are creating safety. When the body feels safe, it releases what it no longer needs.

Amino Acids for Stubborn Fat

Amino acids support weight loss by boosting metabolism (BCAAs, Carnitine), improving satiety (Tryptophan, specific whey peptides), building muscle (Leucine, Isoleucine, Valine), and aiding liver detox (Methionine, Glutamate) and stress/mood (Tyrosine, Theanine), while also impacting insulin sensitivity (Arginine, Glutamate), thyroid function (Tyrosine, Histidine), estrogen balance, and inflammation, primarily through food sources like eggs, meats, and Greek yogurt, with targeted supplements potentially helpful.

Weight Loss & Appetite Control

  • L-Carnitine: Crucial for transporting fatty acids for energy, especially helpful with impaired mitochondrial function.

  • Tryptophan: Precursor to serotonin, promoting fullness and appetite control, especially with intermittent fasting.

  • Whey Peptides: Specific amino acids (isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, proline, tyrosine, valine) stimulate appetite-reducing hormones (GLP-1).

Insulin & Blood Sugar

  • L-Arginine: May improve fat burn and insulin sensitivity.

  • Glutamate, Tyrosine, Isoleucine, Alanine: Associated with insulin secretion; balance is key.

Stress, Emotions & Thyroid

  • L-Tyrosine: Supports neurotransmitters like dopamine and adrenaline, improving focus, drive, and alertness.

  • L-Theanine: Promotes GABA, reducing anxiety and stress.

  • Histidine: Needed for histamine, affecting sleep, immune function, and nerve health (myelin sheath).

  • Methionine & Tyrosine: Essential for thyroid hormone production and metabolism.

Liver, Detox & Inflammation

  • Methionine: Key for detoxification and tissue growth.

  • Glutamate, Glycine, Alanine, Serine, Threonine, Histidine: Actively involved in liver detoxification processes.

  • Cysteine & Glutamine: Important for antioxidant glutathione production, vital for liver detox.

Other Functions (Estrogen, Muscle)

  • Lysine: Involved in hormone production, collagen, and calcium absorption, supporting immune and energy functions.

  • Threonine: Crucial for collagen and elastin, providing skin structure.

  • Leucine: Builds protein, aids muscle repair, and regulates blood sugar.

  • BCAAs (Leucine, Isoleucine, Valine): Help regulate blood sugar, turn on protein synthesis, control appetite, and boost fat metabolism.  Note: at least one study ties high BCAAs to obesity
